Family Mini-Camps
Nature fun for kids and adults
Designed for kids and adults to attend together, each mini-camp explores a different
topic and includes indoor activities and time outside exploring our 289 acre sanctuary.
Ages: 5 to adult.
Children must be accompanied by an adult 18 yrs or older. Each adult may be accompanied by up to 4 children.
Registration: Pre-registration required. See registration links with camp descriptions.
Date & Time: Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. 9:30am—noon.
Tuition: Participant rate per camp (adult & child): $20/non-member, $17/member. Includes general admission (non-transferrable).

Are reptiles slimy? Do snakes have ears? Can turtles take off their shells? What venomous snakes live in this area? We’ll answer these questions and more as we delve into the fascinating world of reptiles. Even touch one…if you dare!
Wednesday - Rockin’ Rocks & Fossils

Be a geologist for the day! Discover some of the rocks and minerals that are used to make every day thing. Examine some of the fossil specimens in our education collection and go on a real fossil hunt.

Can owls really spin their heads around? Where do hummingbirds go in the winter? What birds live in this area? Discover the answers to these and other questions as well as take a bird walk and build a birdhouse to take home.

Family Canoe Try-It SOLD OUT
Ages: 7 and up
Date & Time: Saturday, March 16, 1-4pm
Cost: Ages 7 & up: $42/non-member; $32/member
Never canoed? Give it a try! No experience necessary. After safety and paddling introduction, spend about 40 minutes on a guided canoe trail around our wetlands followed by free time to explore on your own. Pre-registration required.
