Praise for Heard Homeschool & Preschool Classes

I just have to say, my child has been taking the 6-7 yr. old Heard class this session and LOVES it.  It's the highlight of his week, he has learned so much, and I think it's excellent for kids to be out mucking around in the woods.  If you're waffling about whether it would be a good idea or not, I HIGHLY recommend the Heard classes!

I don’t know of any comparable program.  My child loves nature and science so I enrolled.  Program exceeded my expectations.  [This program is] the best reason I give for not being in a school system.  I know my child is much more inspired to learn more about our natural world in this class than any I know about. 

The science curriculum I was using was okay, but I knew my kids would enjoy this class more.  I have referred the classes to several people, because my kids have enjoyed it so much. 

My child has loved the program and it has instilled a love for nature and earth science.  The hands on outdoor learning and the zeal the teachers have for the subject are his favorite parts about the program.

I chose to participate because I loved the idea of the nature hikes, I loved how someone passionate and educated in this field was teaching him and I loved that they were getting to learn in a school-like setting, independently from me.  I have not participated in anything like this before.  

We have visited the museum many times and were thrilled that you offered homeschool classes. My children’s experience was excellent; exactly what we had hoped for.  They definitely wanted to sign-up for spring semester.

As homeschoolers we wanted a hands-on science program to enhance our science curriculum.  We have not participated in any other science class outside of what we teach.

I decided to participate because I don’t like to teach science in my own homeschool.  Also, my kids were not very enthusiastic about the science curriculum we were using at that time.  My two kids have thoroughly enjoyed both the curriculum and their teacher.  They do their assignments with little prompting from me.  It is an engaging class, but it doesn’t overburden us with assignments.

My child loved this class!  It is the highlight of his week.  We cannot thank you enough!  This is an excellent value, opportunity not found elsewhere with terrific staff. 

Preschool Parents

My daughter was interested in taking some sort of class and she really likes science.  We thought this would be somewhat more educational than other preschool activities, yet still fun.  I also like that it is only 2 hours – long enough, yet not too long.  I think the program is well-done and worth the money. 

The Heard program teaches natural science, and I don’t know of any other programs in the area that do.  It is a unique experience, especially for kids who live in the city.
