Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary’s mission is to bring nature and people together. We provide a number of educational programs and special events for adults. Many of our activities are great for visitors 55 years of age and above. You’re also welcome to visit during our regular hours of operation and hike the miles of trails through our nature preserve. There’s so much to explore at Heard, and we want you to stay and learn as much as you can! Here are a few tips that will help ensure you’re comfortable and safe during your visit.
Make sure to wear comfortable shoes suitable for a variety of terrains so that you can comfortably enjoy your trip.
Dress comfortably for the weather and to protect yourself from the natural elements.
Hike, daydream, bird watch, photograph, sketch, study the plants and more. There are a multitude of things to do.
The more you know, the more fun you’ll have. Make sure the read the signs to ensure you have a safe trip!
The Heard offers a variety of fun, educational programs to further your understanding and enjoyment of the natural world.
You are the visitor. This is their home. Observe all wildlife from a distance and do not approach, feed or follow them (including the wildlife in enclosures). Please do not harm or collect plants or other specimens from the nature preserve.
